After breakfast this morning we needed to get gas or we may be spending another night in San Julian. Which wouldn't be good because we are wanting to meet our old friends, Uli and Annaleen, in Punta Arenas before they head off on sunday. So we went to the nearest gas station and the line up for it went around the block and back into the gas station. It was nuts! So dad and I, being inpatient, decided to ride out to the high way and check for gas there. We pulled into the gas station and there was only a 2 car wait. So we got gas and headed back to the hostel the pack up and get the heck out of there. We rode to Rio Gallegos with no problem getting gas in between. When we into town there was a little line for gas but wasn't bad. Then we went and got a room at a hostel. After that we did a little shopping and came back and had dinner. I have to say that the past couple days of constant worry if we were going to get gas has kicked the excitement level up in this trip. It has been an obstacle that we need to over come. And we are destroying the obstacle.
Glad to hear that the gas strike has given you some excitement.
